About Moe
Growing up a theater kid, book nerd, and undiagnosed neurodivergent, I have often found refuge in a good story.
A theater major at Skidmore College (where I earned a BS- because Skidmore believes theater is a science. I do not disagree), I discovered the college radio station, and a lifelong side quest was established.
A career in broadcast media, as reporter, news anchor and talk show host, taught me good stories were also true stories and that they impacted real people.
I’ve raised three kids as a single, self-employed creative mom.
My favorite memories of motherhood are reading bedtime stories to little ones huddled together under blankets being transported to sleep by a wonderous story.
A full-time voice actor since 2004, I raised my kids to believe they could do anything they want, “I talk to myself in the basement, and put you through college doing it!”
Now that they have grown and are writing their own stories, the house is quiet enough that I can focus my time in the booth on audiobooks. Narration is the perfect marriage of my first two loves, stage acting and my time behind the mic doing radio news.
I can deliver clean punch and roll audio from my home studio, found somewhere between the shadows of the Uncanoonuc Mountains and the pine-sheltered trails of Lake Massabesic in New Hampshire.
The latest chapter of this wonderful life has me recast as ‘Gaga’, with twin grandsons I now get to cuddle and read to.
Oh, how many great stories lie ahead for all of us.
Stories define, connect and inspire us. As Terry Pratchett once said, “People think that stories are shaped by people. In fact, it’s the other way around.” I know how lucky I am that I get to tell stories for a living.
Whether cozy mystery, page-turning thriller, encouraging self-help title, or intensely personal memoir, my job is to deliver the author’s voice and vision. Some of the compliments I have gotten from authors:
“That’s just how I heard it in my head when I was writing it! “
“You took my story and made it something even bigger.”
“ I feel like I’m hearing it for the first time.”
I would love to give your story its voice.
